Abdomen Ultrasound

You will need to fast for 8 hours prior to this exam, nothing to eat or drink during this period until after your exam is completed.

Pelvic Ultrasound

You will need a full bladder for this exam: Finish drinking 4-6 cups of water an hour before the exam, do not empty your bladder until after the exam is completed.

Abdomen and Pelvis Ultrasound

You will need to fast for 8 hours with nothing to eat, but finish drinking 4 cups of water one (1) hour before the exam, to fill your bladder. The abdominal part of the exam is fasting, and for the pelvic portion we need your bladder full, therefore do not empty your bladder until the pelvic portion is completed.

Kidneys and Bladder Ultrasound

You will need to fast for 4 hours and have a full bladder for this examination. Nothing to eat for 4 hours and finish drinking 4 cups of water one (1) hour before the exam, do not empty your bladder until after the examination is completed.

Obstetrics Ultrasound

Early (under 13 weeks):

You will need a full bladder for this exam: Finish drinking 4 cups of water an hour before the exam, do not empty your bladder until after the exam is completed.

Mid (13-22 weeks):

You will need a full bladder for this exam: Finish drinking 3 cups of water an hour before the exam, do not empty your bladder until after the exam is completed.

Late (over 22weeks):

You will need to finish drinking 2 cups of water an hour before the exam, do not empty your bladder until after the exam is completed.

Other Ultrasound:

No Preparation for the Following:

Scrotal, Inguinal, Soft tissue, Thyroid, Venous and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Axilla Ultrasound:

Do not use deodorant / antiperspirant prior to the exam.

To be fair to them and us, please give 1 DAY CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING NOTICE.

Please Note: All patients must be at the Clinic no later than 5 minutes prior to appointment time.

If you bring children to your appointment, please have another adult along to supervise.
