Musculoskeletal ultrasounds are a speciality Ultrasound Examination performed and reported by specialized credentialed professionals.
The muscles, tendons and ligaments of each joint are assessed and evaluates for injury.
Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound assesses the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that hold the muscles and bones in alignment. This exam also evaluates the joint spaces for fluid or inflammation that may limit joint movement or cause pain.
Evaluation of joints including ligaments, tendons, muscles, and bursae of:
- Shoulders
- Elbows
- Wrists/ Carpal tunnel, Hands& Fingers
- Knees
- Hips (adults only)
- Ankles, Feet, Toes
